I was an only child for the day (Kumba is staying with Grandma and Grandpa) so I demanded my assistant take me out, we decided on Westport.
I just received my first Hound Collection collar in the mail. Mom has been eyeing the Sneaker Collar in pink for a while. They are pretty spendy so mom was hoping to order when they had a special going on. That didn’t happen, but we are very thankful to Hound Collection. While my assistant (mom) was busy updating my Instagram the other day she came across one of their posting saying that they had sold out of all of their Sneaker Collars. My assistant left a comment about being sad that she had missed out because the pink one would look fabulous on me. The next morning we had a message from them asking what size my neck was because they could have their seamstress specially make me one out of the very last bit of fabric they had left over. I really am a princess
When we opened the package we found a hand written note, specifically addressed to us. There is also another, really nice box that the collar is in (fancy!).
The collar is very nicely made and feels like it will be very durable, and the color is even more vibrant in person.
Hound Collection collars are quite expensive, so do we (I used moms credit card to purchase it) feel they are worth the money? We would recommend them based on their customer service alone. They even checked to make sure we had received our package. I’ve only worn the collar once but it appears to be very durable. Also, all of their collars, with the exception of this one, are leather and we have not had a chance to test those ones out yet. We will definitely be purchasing more things from them in the future!

I spent last weekend as a swollen, red, lumpy, hotmess!
Last Thursday night Momma noticed that my eyes were swollen up, since this has happened many times before she gave me half a Benadryl and 10mg of Prednisone. The swelling went down and I was almost back to normal the next morning. Momma kept me on Benadryl every 8 hours and the next day I seemed to be doing ok. About 8 that night Momma noticed that I was itching my belly and when she picked me up I she noticed that I had some hives there, since she had just given me Benadryl she was a little concerned so she gave me another Prednisone and left a message with the vet. Saturday morning I was mostly back to normal but Momma took me into the vet anyway since she was concerned that I had a reaction while on Benadryl. The vet told her I was most likely having a secondary reaction, which can occur 1-5 days after the first one. He did think it was a little odd since I was on a Benadryl/Prednisone mix, he told her to keep me on that until Monday. We went home and went about our business and I was doing fine until about 5 pm. Momma had just gotten back from the grocery store and she first noticed that my chest was really red and splotchy, she then noticed that I was starting to get hives again. It was time for my Benadryl anyway so she gave me one but she noticed I was itching a lot which is unusual. My grandma was here so she and Momma gave me an oatmeal bath to try and stop my itching….it didn’t help. I was running around the living room trying to rub on everything, I was even dragging my belly across the floor. Momma was waiting on Dad to get home to decide if she should take me in again since my Benadryl didn’t help at all. Dad came home about 6:45pm, took one look at me and said we should take me in. So off we went to the vet for the second time that day. We got to the vet and they gave me a once over and while they were looking in my mouth Momma noticed something that looked a little off. Upon further investigation the realized it was a stinger stuck in my gum! They decided to try and pull that out and they also wanted to do some blood work to see why I had so much bruising (the red splotches on my chest) but since it was the emergency vet and I was stable Momma and Dad had to wait three hours! I should add that the vet took me to some back room and Momma was not very happy that I wasn’t with her during the wait; she’s spoiled like that because my regular vet would take my blood and promptly return me to Momma so we could wait together. Anyway, they were able to partial remove the stinger from my mouth but said they would have to put me under to remove the rest. Since I have reactions to certain anesthesia Momma doesn’t want anyone putting me under except my vet, unless it’s a life or death situation. My blood work also came back normal, but they didn’t give me the steroid shot Momma had wanted them too, instead they sent me home with more Prednisone. That night I kept Momma up all night with my pacing and licking, I knew she was really tired but I couldn’t help it, I was so itchy! Sunday I felt a little better…well, less itchy and by Monday afternoon my hives had finally gone away.
